The Jockey Club Information Systems, Inc. (TJCIS), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Jockey Club, is an industry leader in the areas of technology and information services for thoroughbred industry professionals, including owners, breeders, and trainers, is seeking a Customer Service Representative in its Lexington, KY office.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients, providing exceptional service and support. You will handle inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in customer service, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat.
- Provide accurate information regarding products and services, billing and other support issues.
- Responsible for upselling products and services to customers.
- Assist clients with their needs while ensuring a high level of client services.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve complex issues effectively.
- Assist with testing new applications and software updates.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while communicating with customers, ensuring clarity and understanding.
- Works on location and via phone with customers to introduce new and existing services or products.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred; high school graduate required or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a customer service role and selling and/or marketing products and services.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Motivated and self-starter.
- Proficiency in data entry with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage concurrent projects.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn in a dynamic work environment.
- Basic knowledge of the Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse industry preferred.
Position may require local travel and work at industry events is conducted both indoors and outdoors.
