Join LEMOINE's dynamic team as a Moisture Mapper in response to Hurricane Milton. This vital role focuses on conducting moisture mapping and assessment services for disaster restoration projects in Tampa, Florida, and surrounding storm-affected areas. The Moisture Mapping team is responsible for evaluating moisture levels, documenting water damage, and ensuring efficient drying strategies to restore affected properties. Your work will play a critical role in the restoration process, helping communities recover from the aftermath of the hurricane.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct moisture mapping assessments to determine the extent of water damage in affected properties.
- Use specialized equipment (moisture meters, thermal cameras, etc.) to accurately measure moisture content in structures, materials, and surfaces.
- Document findings with detailed reports, including moisture readings, diagrams, photos, and notes.
- Assist in creating effective drying and dehumidification strategies to minimize further damage.
- Work closely with project managers and restoration teams to ensure accurate moisture control measures.
- Monitor the progress of drying and moisture mitigation efforts, providing regular updates and reports.
- Identify areas requiring more extensive remediation and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and clients to manage expectations and project timelines.
- Participate in quality control by conducting periodic site visits to ensure all moisture mapping activities are completed correctly.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in moisture mapping, water damage restoration, or a related field.
- Preferred certifications: IICRC WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician), ASD (Applied Structural Drying Technician).
- Experience with moisture detection equipment, including moisture meters, thermal cameras, and hygrometers.
- Familiarity with Xactimate, DASH, and other restoration software is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret moisture maps, construction blueprints, and diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work in disaster-affected areas, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to travel to various storm-impacted regions as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to mold, mildew, and hazardous conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and move around for extended periods.
