Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in a opthalamic setting, providing support in various areas such as optical services and front desk operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform vital sign measurements and record patient information accurately
- Assist with medical records management and ensure confidentiality
- Support physicians with patient examinations and procedures
- Handle front desk duties including appointment scheduling and patient check-in
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in patient interactions
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient privacy and data security
- Assist with optical services including frame selection and sales
- Support medical billing processes as needed
Qualifications
- Experience or related healthcare settings is preferred
- Proficiency in using medical systems for recordkeeping and scheduling
- Knowledge of optical services and basic understanding of vision care
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs and record data
- Familiarity with medical terminology and its application in a clinical setting
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient interactions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Experience:
- Ophthalmology: 2 years (Required)
- Optical: 1 year (Required)
- Ophthalmologic Tech: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Required)
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Preferred)
