OUR ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING POSITION
The Patriot is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, experienced RN to join us as the Assistant Director of Nursing. The primary function of this position is to assist the Director of Nursing in development, organization and direction of all aspects of nursing services and related activities in compliance with all federal, state and local guidelines and standards. This position will be responsible for assisting in the supervision, administration and management of the skilled nursing department.
This position reports to the Director of Nursing and is a FULL-TIME, EXEMPT level position.
TOP AREAS OF FOCUS FOR OUR ADON
- Assists the Director of Nursing in development, organization and direction of all aspects of nursing services and related activities.
- Assists in supervising RNs, LPNs and CNAs. Offers guidance and assistance in providing resident care when needed.
- Assists with staff recruitment, retention, scheduling, training/development, and performance management.
- Participates on the Quality Assurance committee and other sub-committees as directed.
- Works with DON to maintain departmental budgets in compliance with established parameters.
- Conducts scheduled department meetings and assumes the Director of Nursing role in the director’s absence.
- Assures ancillary services, such as dietary, activities, rehabilitation, are provided to meet the medical and psychosocial needs of the residents.
- Always exhibit a high-level of professionalism and maintains a professional, customer-oriented demeanor at all times.
- Works within a team concept and is cooperative with co-workers.

SUPERVISION
Supervises Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA). Receives supervision from and reports directly to the Director of Nursing.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
The selected candidate must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing, possess a current Pennsylvania license as a Registered Nurse, and be knowledgeable in nursing home regulations and the state survey process. Long term care experience and supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Experience in quality measures, Five Star reporting, Point Click Care and QAPI is a plus. Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation is required.
