The Recovery Project is an industry-leading outpatient neurological rehabilitation practice with locations in Livonia, Lansing, and Clinton Township that provides progressive-effective physical, occupational and speech therapy to people with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, neurological and movement disorders and other conditions.

Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the Physical Therapist Assistant will:
Provide physical therapy services as medically prescribed
Treat patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions under physical therapist plan from evaluation
Collaborate with physical therapist on physical therapy plans of care
Complete related documentation efficiently
Participate effectively in interdisciplinary team
Assist with discharge and home education planning as appropriate
Guide/direct patient participation to facilitate learned skills for participation in mobility related activities, improved function, education on adaptive equipment, and promote functional independence and high quality of life.
Provide skilled intervention according to the principles and practices of Physical Therapy and the APTA code of ethics.
Common approaches include: Customized, client-centered treatments for neurological conditions such as SCI, TBI, CVA, MS, Parkinsons, use of functional electrical stimulation, mobility retraining, high repetition activity- based training, Redcord and Lite Gait training, adaptive equipment education.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree - Physical Therapy Assistant
Experience: Preferably 2-3 years experience in medical setting with neurological population. Preferably experience with functional electrical stimulation. Strong recent graduates may apply.
Licensure: Applicants must have passed the licensure exam regulated by The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy and be licensed with LARA in the state of Michigan.
