St James is dedicated to help our local community live a sacramental life and grow in relationship with Jesus. We are seeking a talented Web and Graphic Designer to join our team and play a key role in enhancing our online presence and visual communication.
Position Summary:
The Web and Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating and maintaining the parish website, developing engaging bulletins, and designing graphics that effectively communicate our mission. This role requires a blend of technical skills and creative flair to produce visually appealing content that resonates with our community.
Essential Functions:
Website Development and Maintenance:
o Design, develop, and update the company website.
o Ensure website functionality, responsiveness, and user experience across various devices and browsers.
o Implement SEO best practices to improve website visibility and performance.
o Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly.
Graphic Design:
o Create visually appealing graphics for digital and print materials, including marketing collateral, social media posts, and newsletters.
o Develop and maintain a cohesive visual identity that aligns with the parish’s mission.
o Collaborate with other team members to produce high-quality design materials for various campaigns.
Bulletin Creation:
o Design and produce engaging bulletins and newsletters that effectively communicate parish updates, events, and promotions.
o Ensure content is visually appealing and adheres to virtuous standards.
o Work with content creators to gather and organize information for each bulletin.
Collaboration and Communication:
o Collaborate with leadership team to develop and execute design projects.
o Communicate effectively with ministries to understand project requirements and timelines.
o Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in web design and graphic design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in web design and graphic design (portfolio required).
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and web development tools.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
