The Quality Assistant supports the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving Schebler's quality standards. This non-exempt position plays a vital role in upholding our reputation for exceptional product quality by assisting in the development, application, and maintenance of our quality processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing production processes to evaluate quality and compliance with standards.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections to verify product/process quality and consistency.
- Maintain accurate quality records, including non-conformance logs and quality system documentation.
- Collaborate with team leaders to address and resolve quality-related issues.
- Assist in communicating quality control requirements to internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.
- Help prepare reports and documentation to track and analyze quality metrics.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address quality concerns.
- Provide administrative support to the Quality Manager, including data entry and documentation updates.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Education, Experience, Certifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate degree or coursework in quality, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a quality or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Other Requirements:
- Must have the ability to communicate information in speaking and writing so others will understand.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds at a time.
- The employee is frequently exposed to a high noise level.
- Must be able to routinely move throughout the shop and office area.
