Position Summary
As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks to collect blood samples for testing. You will ensure proper patient identification, accurate specimen collection, and data entry into the laboratory system. You will also assist with the collection of chain-of-custody urine drug screens and support various laboratory functions.

You will ensure proper patient identification, accurate specimen collection, and data entry into the laboratory system. You will also assist with the collection of chain-of-custody urine drug screens and support various laboratory functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks to collect blood specimens.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling.
- Document specimen details, including time drawn and received, in the laboratory computer system.
- Perform chain-of-custody urine drug screens following NIDA guidelines.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to quality control and safety protocols.
- Assist in troubleshooting lab equipment and maintaining proper operation.
- Participate in training and mentoring new staff as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment preferred.
- Ability to follow procedures independently and work effectively under pressure.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, and reach as required for the role.
- Must be able to see with or without corrective eyewear and hear clearly.
- Ability to work with exposure to infectious materials and handle emergency situations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
