What are the responsibilities and job description for the CCTV Technician position at The Suquamish Tribe?

Job Summary:

Provide support, preventive maintenance, and the up-keeping and repair of the CCTV and related equipment. Perform installation requests and or projects in a timely manner. Document any and all camera problems, repairs and solutions within the gaming facility. Maintain required logs with accuracy. Has immediate responsibility for the on-site regulation, control, and security of the gaming operation as authorized by the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC)
Regulations, Tribal-State Compact, and the Suquamish Gaming Ordinance.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

  • The support, preventive maintenance, upkeep, and repair of CCTV and related equipment.
  • Receives work order requests and prioritizes based on date of receipt as well as location of equipment.
  • Completes installation project requests in a timely manner with little or no supervision.
  • Maintains computerized listings of camera locations, types of connection, power sources, spare parts, equipment, etc.
  • Complies with all Tribal, State, and Federal rules and regulations related to gaming.
  • Completes special assignments as assigned by the Gaming Commission Executive Director and/or the Manager of Surveillance.
  • Documents any camera problems, repairs, and solutions in the gaming facilities to the Gaming Commission Executive Director and/or the Manager of Surveillance.
  • Maintains required logs, accurately.
  • Completes all job related paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Has experience with networking and have the ability to work cooperatively with the Washington State Gambling Commission, NIGC.
  • Must have a high level of communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must act in accordance with the Suquamish Tribal Employee Handbook.
  • Must act in a professional manner at all times when it comes to dealing with other Tribal Employees, Casino Employees, STGC Employees and outside contacts.
  • Must have good work ethics and good work attendance.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good math and communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform technical duties unsupervised.
  • Must be familiar with the NEC Handbook’s guide lines for low voltage and CCTV installation.
  • Knowledge of electronics and circuitry.
  • Knowledge of the gaming industry is preferred but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of the latest Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Administrative Tools, Active Directory Management.
  • Must hold information “confidential” at all time.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s license, or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • No felony convictions ever and no gross misdemeanor convictions within two years prior to appointment.
  • Good written and oral communication, self-motivation, and organization are essential.
  • Must have a Low Voltage Card or be able to obtain one within a 6 month period. (Limited Energy Systems).
  • Knowledge or experience working in Indian Country.
  • State and Tribal Background check required
  • Pre-Employment drug testing required, thereafter subject to random drug testing.
  • Native American preference

Job Conditions:

Stressful and demanding due to nature of gaming related issues with which you work, the inter- agency/program communication and coordination, and the level of confidentiality that must be upheld.
This job requires creative problem solving under stressful conditions. Wide diversity of work situations includes working in numerous environments including, office, and in the gaming facility.

Physical Conditions:

  • Constant sitting, walking distances up to 1000 feet, bending, stooping, reaching, speaking, seeing, and kneeling.
  • Constant handling, wrist motion, communicating with others, taking direction and eye/hand coordination, and differential color and symbol identification.
  • Able to lift 1 lb. to 50 lbs., this will include lifting (sometimes above head).
  • Occasional twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying documents.
  • Working indoors/outdoors in confined areas, constantly in and out of climate-controlled environment.
  • Walking on carpeted, cement, and tile floors.
  • Working alone or with others.
