What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Researcher position at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley?
Scope of Job Postdoctoral trainee will work under minimal supervision with some latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment in research on mammalian signal transduction. Trainee will perform teaching and/or research work as required within the classroom and/or project assigned.
Description of Duties Develops, test, and analyzes research projects pertinent to mammalian signal transduction.
Writes narrative summaries of the research results, and related tasks under the supervision of the faculty member assigned.
Conducts background research.
Develops and implements an evaluation plan and prepares progress reports as needed.
Studies, tests, and maintains accurate data identified as relevant and/or best practice systems from research results obtained through national studies.
Designs and implements training activities as required.
Teaches one to two courses per semester in conjunction with faculty member, if assigned.
Publishes in peer-reviewed publications related to the focus of the research activities assigned.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervision Received General direction from immediate faculty supervisor.
Supervision Given None.
Required Education Ph.D. in Biology, Genetics, or related field
Required Experience Mammalian cell biology experience is required.
Equipment Use of personal computer and proficiency in software and research statistical applications.
Working Conditions Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office/research environment; some travel and weekend work is required.
Other This is a trainee position subject to a specific time as agreed to by stakeholders.
