The Village Perk is a small business in Puyallup, WA and surrounding area. We are a mobile coffee truck working different events across the state. We generally work in a fast paced environment.

We are seeking a fun, friendly and high energy individual to join our team as a Barista. This position is ideal for an individual with communication skills and an interest in the service industry.
Input: Individuals with experience in customer service and attention to detail are encouraged to apply for this position.

While sometimes challenging due to high volume service, inclement weather and the technical side of the cart operation, it's very rewarding considering the often large weekly tips and positive feedback and praise baristas get from customers and clients.

A typical event day will bring in $20-$30 in tips per hour. The position requires a good deal of independence, confidence and trustworthiness to be successful.

If you require the usual co-working situation, this probably isn't your cup o' tea. However, if you like developing your own workplace environment without the constant intrusion of supervisors and other workers messing with your flow (and have a love for coffee) we urge you to apply!

Responsibilities:

• Prepare coffee drinks, italian sodas, and redbull
• Backflush and clean espresso machine at end of shift.
• Keep workspace tidy
• Maintain positive attitude while working with employees and customers.
• Work in small spaces.
• Lift up to 50lbs.
• Work 4-6 hours consecutively on your feet.
• Restock pastries and supplies
• Clean pitchers, spoons, equipment at four hour increments.

Schedule:

• 15 hours a week (more if requested), 2- 3 days a week
• 4-8 hour shifts depending on event
• Weekends Required
• Weekday morning availability
• Mornings and lunch catering 1 - 2x per month

Requirements:

• 2 Years Barista experience required
• Able to work in high-volume transactions and environments
• Great organization and communication skills
• Dependable and self-motivated
• Flexible scheduling and local travel
• Weekend availability
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Driver's license, reliable transportation
• Food handler permit (can get for $10 online)
• Reliable
• Ability to pass a background check

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $16.28 - $23.00 per hour
