Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our medical team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound machines and producing high-quality images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and structures. Your expertise will contribute to accurate diagnosis and treatment planning, ensuring exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform ultrasound examinations using various techniques and equipment.
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Position patients correctly and effectively to obtain optimal images.
- Adjust and control ultrasound equipment settings to produce desired results.
- Analyze images for quality, ensuring they meet diagnostic requirements.
- Provide preliminary findings to healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging procedures.
- Collaborate with the medical team to evaluate scan results and determine further actions.
- Adhere to operational and safety guidelines to maintain equipment functionality.
- Keep abreast of new and emerging ultrasound technologies and techniques.
- Assist in training and mentoring new ultrasound technologists, as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Successful completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Valid certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Proficient knowledge of ultrasound equipment, techniques, and interpretation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and high-quality images.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
