How will you make an impact?

Will focus on delivering product innovation through rigorous instrument testing. Will play an integral part in our Product Design and Test team for planning and implementing detailed tests for all of our brands!

Will work across the entire product lifecycle, including research, industrial design, and verification testing. From conceptualization to implementation, will work multi-functionally with software engineers, product management, QA, and R&D design teams! Have a passion for identifying and solving instrument issues throughout the development and product lifecycle to build high-quality products for our customers.

What will you do?

  • Develop a detailed understanding of the requirements (both explicit and implicit) of the system under development
  • Develop test cases and a test plan based on the requirements and release schedules
  • Implement test cases described and detailed in the test plan
  • Identify failures during test execution and log appropriate information needed to allow the developer to understand, reproduce, and address the issue
  • Exercise good judgment in settling priority and severity of defects
  • Champion and supervise the resolution of identified software issues
  • Process and report visual data to multi-functional teams

REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION:

Minimum Qualifications (must have):

  • Proven track record to troubleshoot issues and figure out root cause of defects, whether they are software or hardware-based
  • Previous industrial experience supporting analytical instrumentation and software product development projects
  • Experienced with systems integration testing concepts and systematic testing approaches
  • Proficiency in Agile/SCRUM product development principles and application to commercial software development
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux-based operating systems
  • Proven understanding of automated test tools and their implementation
  • Proven understanding of sophisticated multi-tier software architectures
  • Proven risk-based mindset when evaluating and communicating test results and status
  • Ability to work independently to initiate, take ownership of, and lead testing of individual system components as well as fully integrated platforms.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently as well as being a standout colleague.
  • Maintains knowledge of relevant fields and techniques

Education

  • Required: bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, physical, or natural sciences; equivalent work experience acceptable in lieu of degree.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):

  • Experience with one or more programming languages
  • knowledge of statistical analysis, experimental design (DOE) approaches

  • Shown understanding of fluorescence microscopy, and/or quantitative imaging and analysis useful
  • Solid understanding of database systems (SQL Server or Oracle)
  • 2 years of professional experience in analytical instrumentation platform testing in an industrial product development setting
