Physical Therapy Assistant

The incumbent shall be responsible for providing, under the direction of an physical therapist, therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.

Educational and/or Professional Qualifications:

• Graduate of an Associate’s degree program or shall have completed equivalent training, and meet practice requirements of Louisiana.
  
  

Previous Experience:

• Previous experience working with an adult and geriatric population is preferred.
• Previous education/experience serving people with physical disabilities is preferred.
  
  

Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.:

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Louisiana required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers by American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.
