Role Description

Thinx is seeking an exceptional Creative Director, Art Director to lead our design, art direction and production teams. In partnership with our Creative Director, Copy, you’ll lead full-funnel campaign concepting through to production and ad creation. You will manage a team of designers whose work spans brand identity creation, packaging, digital marketing and social, as well as a production team responsible for talent management, photo and video shoots, and retouching. This role reports to the VP, Brand & Creative.

The Work You’ll Do: 

As a key member of the Thinx marketing leadership team, you’ll co-lead our creative team and shape the visual identity of our brand. This role requires big creative thinking, an exceptional eye and will be responsible for campaign concepting and shaping executional work. In addition to leading campaign development across the team, the Creative Director will be responsible for oversight of the execution and delivery of photo and video assets, with internal, freelance and agency support. The role will directly manage one brand designer, one marketing designer, one creative producer and a collective team of 7. 

  • Partner with Co-Creative director to lead creative concepting and guide design and copy teams to develop innovative and original creative campaigns that maintain Thinx’s category leadership
  • Ensure that brand guidelines and campaign assets translate seamlessly across owned distribution channels, third party retailers and international markets
  • Work cross-functionally with teams such as product design, growth marketing and UX design to ensure our brand and product assets are accurate and channel optimized
  • Manage the in-house production team and enhance process for post-production and retouching in partnership with project management
  • Lead brand and marketing design functions, establishing and evolving brand principles and leveraging ad performance insights to inform future execution
  • Manage relevant external agencies, freelancers or production partners in concepting and producing campaigns, content, and photo assets. 
  • Provide creative oversight at photo and video shoots 
  • Stay up to date on marketing trends within our competitor space and adjacent categories

  • You’re passionate about mentoring and growing creative talent

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience developing integrated campaigns and art direction is necessary. Must have proven experience creating big ideas and photo/video art direction that can live across all media and distribution channels.
  • Experience managing full-time team members/freelancers required. 
  • Creative agency experience preferred, brand-side experience is a plus. 
  • Photo and video production and editing experience is a plus.
  • Established relationships with a wide range of production companies, creators, photographers and videographers.
  • Excellent at problem solving; can work efficiently and effectively to meet timelines and budget. 
  • Excellent critical thinking; can clearly articulate creative decisions and deliver feedback/direction. 
  • Excellent at cross-functional collaboration and communication. Has a proven track record of being able to communicate clearly, effectively, and amicably. 
  • Personally compelled and inspired by Thinx’s mission and ready to create bold conversations about menstruation and incontinence

Our Compensation Philosophy

At Thinx, our compensation philosophy is driven by the goal of attracting, developing, and retaining the best people to further our mission, vision, and business goals. Compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including and not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. For New York City the range of base annual salary for this position is $150,000 - $175,000. Candidates being considered for work in other locations will be subject to the base salary range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. Base annual salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits that may be available.
