About the Role
The Medical Director will provide technical medical and scientific leadership for our healthcare marketing agency, specializing in market access. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of evidence-based strategies, ensuring scientific integrity in all content, and guiding cross-functional teams in achieving optimal market access solutions. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in clinical research, health economics, and regulatory affairs.
Responsibilities
Medical and Scientific Leadership:
- Lead medical and scientific efforts across all market access projects.
- Ensure scientific accuracy and clinical relevance in all deliverables.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in medical science, healthcare policies, and market access strategies.
Content Development and Review:
- Oversee the creation, review, and approval of medical and scientific content, including white papers, HTA submissions, and value dossiers.
- Ensure all relevant materials are evidence-based, scientifically rigorous, and compliant with regulatory standards
Client Engagement:
- Present complex medical data, research findings, and strategic recommendations to clients.
- Facilitate client understanding of market access challenges and solutions.
Research and Analysis:
- Analyze and interpret clinical trial data, real-world evidence, and health economic outcomes to inform strategic decisions.
- Keep updated with the latest clinical trials, publications, and regulatory updates.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including market access strategists, technical writers, and regulatory affairs.
- Engage with external stakeholders such as healthcare providers, payers, KOLs, and regulatory authorities.
- Participate in and contribute to internal and external scientific meetings and conferences.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all medical content and activities adhere to relevant regulatory and ethical standards.
- Implement and monitor stringent quality assurance processes for all scientific deliverables.
- Maintain high standards of scientific integrity and rigor in all communications and outputs.to the development of educational materials and training programs for clients.
Qualifications
Education
- MD in a relevant life sciences field (preferably with clinical or research experience).
Experience
- 10 years of experience in a medical communications, medical affairs, or medical strategy role at a healthcare advertising agency, pharmaceutical company, or biotech.
- Therapeutic Expertise: Strong knowledge in one or more therapeutic areas, such as oncology, immunology, neurology, or rare diseases.
Skills
- Ability to translate complex clinical data into accessible messaging for various audiences.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in healthcare advertising.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Collaborative and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with market access teams and developing strategies for patient access and reimbursement.
- Prior experience in a client-facing role within a healthcare communications or marketing agency.
