We're seeking a highly motivated Construction Cost Accountant to join our growing construction company. In this crucial role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the financial success of our projects by meticulously tracking costs and data entry of labor billings.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators to track labor expenses
- Process financial transactions related to contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.
- Analyze project costs, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Review variances with sales staff, contractors, and department heads.
- Reconcile subcontractor accounts and ensure timely payments.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of construction accounting principles and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction cost accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with construction accounting software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
