Construction Cost Accountant

We're seeking a highly motivated Construction Cost Accountant to join our growing construction company. In this crucial role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the financial success of our projects by meticulously tracking costs and data entry of labor billings.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project managers and estimators to track labor expenses
• Process financial transactions related to contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.
• Analyze project costs, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Review variances with sales staff, contractors, and department heads.
• Reconcile subcontractor accounts and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of construction accounting principles and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction cost accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with construction accounting software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Experience:

• Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred)
• Cost accounting: 1 year (Preferred)
• Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
• Microsoft Word: 1 year (Preferred)
