Job Summary
A Warehouse Technician at Thornton Flooring performs a variety of tasks including cutting, organizing, and staging materials; delivering products to customers and job sites in a timely fashion; and ensuring smooth and consistent operations to meet business expectations. This position requires the ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment and lift and carry heavy objects. Experience in the flooring industry is preferred but not required. Schedule is:

• Monday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm,
• Tuesday and Wednesday 7:00 am to 6:00
• Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Every fourth Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain proactive and collaborative relationships with customers, co-workers, installers, and suppliers.
• Work safely and notify the manager of any safety related issues immediately.
• Assist with measuring and cutting materials to job specifications.
• Organize and prepare flooring products for installer and customer pick-up.
• Operate a commercial vehicle on roadways following all applicable laws and safety regulations.
• Accurately and efficiently load products on vehicles and ensure load is secured to prevent breakage.
• Deliver all products accurately and on time.
• Document delivery confirmation and process appropriate paperwork in a timely manner.
• Maintain vehicles as per company standards.
• Other duties as requested.

Skills:

• Bilingual Spanish speaking required
• High School education, or equivalent.
• Valid driver license and clean driving record of little to no infractions in the past four years.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate a forklift and other types of warehouse equipment.
• Proficient in various technology platforms such as apps, smartphone functionality, PC literate in MS Office, Outlook, Internet browser.
• Basic math, reading, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Exhibit professionalism always, including proper dress attire and representing the company positively.
• Ability to support company values that maintain positive customer relations.
• Experience in a warehouse distribution environment preferred.
• Experience in the flooring industry is preferred.

Physical requirements of this position include long periods of standing and walking on concrete floors within the warehouse as well as bending, stooping, squatting, keeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Work also involves driving to and from job sites, sometimes in inclement weather, and manually unloading materials and carried into homes and businesses.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
