Medical Assistant General Responsibilities :
- Provides support by performing clinical and administrative duties under the direction of a Health Care Provider to ensure excellent quality of care to patients.
- Duties may include, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height), recording information in patient's chart, preparing treatment rooms for examination of patients, and obtaining medical history.
Required Qualifications :
Interest in working in Pediatrics, or Behavioral Health is a must.High School Diploma or equivalent substitute.Post-secondary training in Medical Assistant program.Bi-lingual desirable.Organizational skills.Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelEMR experience preferredProfessionalism, documentation skillsPhysical Effort / Environment :

Responsible for preparing provider requested forms, office notes, and external records prior to the patient's scheduled visit.Monitor the providers schedule to ensure that patients are scheduled according to established scheduling guidelinesWorks in conjunction with the provider to ensure timeliness of visitsGreet patients and obtain vital signs, (i.e. blood pressure, height, weight, etc.)Confirm the reason for the patient visit and obtain patient history's when applicableDocument requests for medication refillsPerform routine diagnostic testingResponsible for managing telephone encounters as assigned in a timely mannerPrepare patients and the exam room based on the visit typeOperate, clean, and maintain clinical equipmentProperly prepare instruments for the autoclaveProperly dispose of medical waste and sharpsAssist providers in rooms as neededClean and stock rooms.Alert appropriate staff to any expired medications or medical suppliesPerform opening and closing duties as assigned and based on established workflowsAdministrative
