The organization is in search of a proficient and seasoned Wi-Fi Network Engineer to be a part of their dynamic team. The perfect candidate will possess deep technical knowledge, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the aptitude to work autonomously in the design, implementation, and maintenance of essential wireless network systems.
The position is based onsite in Santa Clara, CA. Candidates are required to live within one hour of Santa Clara. For candidates of exceptional caliber, hybrid work flexibility may be considered.

Primary Responsibilities
Wi-Fi Network Architecture & Deployment:
- Engineer and execute resilient, scalable Wi-Fi solutions for comprehensive campus coverage, optimizing for performance, capacity, and safety.
- Create site surveys, heatmaps, and predictive RF modeling for effective coverage and density planning.
- Set up and deploy access points (APs), controllers, and essential infrastructure components for seamless connectivity.
- Conduct periodic system evaluations and actively troubleshoot Wi-Fi challenges to reduce downtime.
- Implement firmware updates, configuration backups, and routine maintenance on Wi-Fi components.
- Monitor and assess wireless network performance, offering suggestions for enhancements.
- Leverage diagnostic tools such as Ekahau, AirMagnet, and Mist Dashboard to resolve intricate Wi-Fi challenges.
- Deliver technical support and expertise for escalated Wi-Fi issues.
- Collaborate closely with network engineers, system administrators, and IT support personnel to sustain a cohesive IT environment.
- Maintain documentation of network designs, configurations, and maintenance activities according to company policies.
- Oversee Wi-Fi projects from inception and design through deployment and post-implementation support.
- Engage with vendors and contractors for the installation, assistance, and acquisition of Wi-Fi equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications may be accepted as a substitute for formal education.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Wi-Fi engineering, with not less than two (2) years within a large campus setting.
- Proficient in large-scale campus environments (e.g., education, healthcare, corporate campuses).
- Thorough understanding of Wi-Fi standards and protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax).
- Hands-on experience with solutions from Mist, Cisco (Catalyst, Meraki), and Aruba.
- Familiarity with wireless design software such as Ekahau or AirMagnet.
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN) and wireless security methodologies.
- Relevant certifications such as CWNA, CWNP, CCNP Wireless, or vendor-specific recognitions (e.g., Cisco Wireless LAN certifications).
- Strong project management skills with a history of leading interdisciplinary projects.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and analytics tools, especially within the Mist or Cisco landscape.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Solid problem-solving aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
- Position is onsite; candidates must be located within one hour of Santa Clara, CA.
- Consideration for hybrid work option may be given to exceptionally qualified candidates.

- This is a contract role for a duration of 3 months, without an expectation of extension.
