The selected individual will take charge of vendor management, align multidisciplinary teams, create project strategies, and maintain communication channels for on-time project finalization. This role necessitates a solid foundation in healthcare project management, particularly concerning healthcare IT and adherence to regulatory standards.
Primary Duties
- Manage and guide the interoperability final rule initiative, serving as the main point of responsibility for successful project outcomes.
- Oversee project management vendors to guarantee that services are delivered within the stipulated timeline as per the contractual agreement.
- Work closely with diverse teams to ensure the efficient execution of the project and adherence to federal guidelines.
- Create and oversee project blueprints, schedules, and tasks to fulfill project goals while aligning with organizational objectives.
- Conduct project team meetings to relay project progress and synchronize team efforts.
- Generate visuals, project summaries, and additional documentation for stakeholder engagement, providing consistent updates and addressing significant challenges.
- Identify project risks and challenges, formulate mitigation strategies, and track follow-up actions.
- Ensure compliance with federal funding stipulations, including management of invoices and human resource time reporting.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with project personnel, executive leadership, and stakeholders.
- Comply with established guidelines and protocols related to project management and procurement.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent credential.
- At least 5 years of project management experience in the healthcare sector, with a particular focus on healthcare IT.
- Minimum of 3 years in IT project management roles.
- Capability to establish effective relationships with management, vendors, and team members.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical ideas to non-technical staff and distill complex data.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize, work autonomously, and adjust to evolving project demands.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Experience with project documentation and familiarity with MS Project.
- Proficient in MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Possession of a project management certification (PMP or similar) is an advantage.
