Description
Summary:
A full-time dependable CDL B Driver, who can transport numerous types of freight / cargo / goods safe and accurately over the road.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safely and efficiently operate trucks up to GVW of 26,001 lbs
Pull towed weight not exceeding 10,000 lbs
Accurately perform pre-trip procedures before and after operating assigned truck
Pickup and deliver freight / cargo / goods to and from assigned destinations
Safely and efficiently operate small and big box trucks
Safely and efficiently haul 24 - 30' flatbeds as directed
Safely and securely tie down cargo loads for flatbed pickups / deliveries
Communicate with dispatch as needed
Identify the different shipping documentation (Freight bill, POD, BOL, manifests, Hazmat, etc.)
Always maintain a clean cab
Record service and maintenance as needed - fill out DVIR
Check all paperwork that accompany pickups and deliveries
Obtain customer's signatures on all delivery receipts
Collect payments for necessary driver collect shipments
Communicate with customers and staff members professionally via in-person / over the phone
Turn in POD's with driver's runs at end of day
Complete all training courses as assigned
Follow delivery schedule as provided on a timely manner
Assist customers with load/offloading as requested
Assist customers with stacking / down stacking as requested
Report freight or delivery discrepancies to the appropriate HFS Office Clerks
Report all accidents and/or incidents upon occurrence
Track and report work hours
Adhere to Xpress Trucking company policies
Cooperate with occasional driver rotation operations
Obey all traffics laws and drive according to weather/road conditions
Comply with all FMCSA and DOT regulations
Attend all monthly driver's meetings
Other tasks as assigned

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Valid Hawaii Class B Commercial Driver's License
Box Truck / Flatbed over the road experience preferred
Hazardous endorsement preferred
Clean driver's history record
Pass background check and pre-employment drug test
No violations reported to the Clearinghouse
Proficient with GPS, smart phone, and other routing devices
Punctual, dependable, and resourceful
High level of composure and good stress management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to sit for long periods of time
Able to lift to 50 lbs.
Able to operate electric / manual pallet jacks, cart, hand trucks
Able to operate lift-gate
Constant climbing in and out of truck
Load / unload freight in and out of box truck as required, push and pulling
Stack / down stacking as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Assigned truck cab
Various weather conditions
Indoors for driver's meetings
In and outdoors for customer pickup/deliveries
In and outdoors when associating with staff members
