DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Coordinates with the RD and DTR to ensure that special diet orders (food allergies, intolerances, medical
nutrition therapies, food dislikes, etc.) are ordered and implemented clearly and correctly.
● Complete physical inventory counts on a regular basis. Staff shall rotate stock and place newer items
behind older ones to prevent expiration of ingredients.
a. Remove expired items and label existing items with an expiration date
b. Complete current inventory list
c. Create a shopping list with items disposed of and those needing to be reordered.
d. Upon arrival of groceries, label with current date and expiration date.
e. Every three (3) days move the oldest items to the front of the refrigerator
f. Weekly re-inventory cold items, cabinets and freezer.
● Work with vendors to facilitate ordering client meals and supplies as necessary.
● Ensure meals are prepared daily according to menus, and monitoring client consumption of
appropriate exchange pattern
● Surplus expired or spoiled food items to be identified and disposed of in accordance with local
regulations.
● Review meal plans for updates and update log in kitchen as needed
● Ensure clients receive and return menus for next week (as assigned).
● Assist with purchasing all grocery items for facility, considering variety, special diets and food
safety.
● Oversee cleanliness of kitchen and eating areas consistent with Department of Health requirements.
● Completes all required documentation and reports in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with the
policies and procedures of the facility.
● Participates in scheduled in-service and other appropriate training activities.
● Uphold proper sanitation requirements that are in compliance with CN Dept. of Health and OSHA
requirements.
● Rotate Emergency Food supply quarterly.
● Complete weekly supervision with assigned staff.
● Other duties as assigned.
Required: Serv Safe Certification, one year in food service in health care setting, mulitple years preferred.
Salary : $18 - $20
