Production Manager
Polymer Processing, Inc. is now hiring one of two lead material handler/forklift operator for our growing business.

We have been in business for nearly 50 years and we are in a hyper-growth phase. We are a Toll Manufacturer company providing services to some of the largest Chemical companies in the world. The majority of which we have been working with for 15 years. The opportunities we currently have are staggering! We are in the midst of expanding in multiple directions, and are currently installing new equipment, modifying production lines, and opening another new location.

Summary of duties:

- Direct supervision of Production, Shipping, Receiving, including workflow scheduling, process control, procedural development, managing maintenance needs, employee training/development,
- Ensuring cGMP practices are followed and documented.
- Conducting/documenting annual employee reviews and employee disciplinary counseling as needed.
- Controlling overtime allocation.
- Oversight of cross-training initiatives designed to maximize personnel response capabilities. Establishes planning to minimize disruptions due to staffing shortages.
- Responsibility for the cleanliness and general safety of all areas.
- Inventory Control.
- Provision of follow up root cause analysis for inventory items which have variances beyond a reasonable level.
- Monitoring of customer order patterns and stock levels to ensure readiness for special orders and order demand surges. Coordination with the Receiving and Shipping Coordinator as needed. Coordinates with area lead personnel for any special production needs.
- Filling in for the Plant Manager, Team Leads and supervisors in the production areas as needed.
- Participation as a company representative for annual inspections (i.e., Fire Inspection, Air Quality Inspection, etc.).
- Assists the Owner in other areas as directed.
Process Engineering:
- Innovation and initiation of process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and service response.
- Overseeing the installation of new processes and/or equipment.
- Communicating with all areas of responsibility as well as other departments to ensure a smooth workflow. Approves protocols for non-standard workflow.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in SAP & Excel.
- 2 – 3 years of previous supervisory experience required.
- Understanding of basic material handling principles. Example: What equipment is needed to work with the material’s physical properties.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to or the ability to learn chemical mixing, grinding and packaging in a plant environment.
- Exposure to blender, packaging, and ancillary equipment used in production and laboratories
- Shipping and receiving functions.
- Warehouse storage capacities, the impact of production mix changes on raw material needs and shipping order patterns
- Strong mechanical aptitude to allow for understanding and directing the rebuilding of machinery.
- Working knowledge of environmental, health, safety, and process safety regulations a plus.
- Must be able to react to chemical processing needs and events quickly and effectively.
- Strong resource management skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Good computer skills.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
