A. JOB SUMMARY

Supervises Quality Control Inspector’s in our Rochester facility. Performs audits on incoming, in process, and final products. Rejects products and materials not meeting specifications

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain production within quality standards

2. Follow all applicable safety policies and procedures

3. Complete all required safety training

4. Perform clean-ups, and maintain area cleanliness

5. Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area

6. Assist Plant Manager and Supervisor as needed

7. To work as a team with others in plant

8. Work any overtime as needed

9. Rejects products and materials not meeting specifications

10. Performs audits on incoming, in process, and final products

11. Analyzes and interprets blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required

12. Inspects, tests, or measures materials, products, installations, and works for conformance to specifications

13. Notifies supervisor and other personnel of production problems, and assists in identifying and correcting these problems

14. Discusses inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective action

15. Records inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and qualities inspected or graded

16. Observes and monitors production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly adjustments

17. Hand tools, such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers

18. Analyzes test data and makes computations as necessary

19. Experience in driving forklift

20. Any and all other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

21. Your attendance during scheduled work hours is an essential function of this position

C. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises Quality Control Inspector’s in both the Argos and Rochester facilities

D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Balancing - maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching

2. Bending and stooping - bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, 8 hours per day, intermittently

3. Climbing and crawling – ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and other devices using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized, 8 hours per day, intermittently

4. Light carrying - physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another, 8 hours per day, intermittently

5. Moderate carrying – items weighing 15 to 44 pounds, 8 hours per day, intermittently

6. Heavy carrying – items weighing 45 pounds and over, 8 hours per day, intermittently

7. Grasping - applying pressure to an object with fingers, including thumb and palm, 8 hours per day, intermittently

8. Feeling - perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips, 8 hours per day, intermittently

9. Kneeling – bending legs at knees to come to rest on one or both knees, 8 hours per day, intermittently

10. Lifting – raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position, 8 hours per day, intermittently

11. Light lifting – raising objects under 15 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from one position to another, 8 hours per day, intermittently

12. Moderate lifting – raising objects 15-44 pounds, 8 hours per day, intermittently

13. Heavy lifting – raising objects 45 pounds, 8 hours per day, intermittently

14. Working overhead – working with hands and arms in an overhead position

E. MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Standing - 8 hours per day

2. Walking – moving about on foot, particularly for long distances, 8 hours per day, intermittently

3. Pulling hand over hand – using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion, 8 hours per day, intermittently

4. Pushing – using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or upward, 8 hours per day, intermittently

5. Reaching above shoulder – Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction, 8 hours per day, intermittently

6. Repetitive motion – substantial movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers for sustained periods of time, 8 hours per day, intermittently

F. VISUAL / HEARING ACUITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Visual requirement – employee is required to have visual acuity to perform visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/ or assembly or fabrication parts at a distances close to the eyes

2. Hearing requirement - perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. The ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations of sounds

G. ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS

1. The employee is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour

2. The employee is subject to both environmental conditions, activities which occur inside and outside

3. The employee is subject to hazards. This includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, heat and/or exposure to chemicals

4. The employee is subject to atmospheric conditions. One of more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, or gases

5. The employee is frequently in close quarters and other areas that could cause claustrophobia

6. Employee is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways

1. Employee must have the ability to count accurately, to add, subtract, multiply, divide and to record, balance, and check results for accuracy

2. Employee must have the ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology

3. Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule on short-term basis

4. The ability to organize and prioritize work schedules of others

5. Employee must have the ability to maintain quality records

6. Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes

7. The ability to made decisions which have significant impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside immediate work unit

8. Ability to make decision which have significant impact on the department’s credibility, operations, and services

9. Employee must have the ability to apply common sense to performing job
