A.JOB SUMMARY

Employee tends machine with winding units that winds fiberglass thread

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Maintain production within quality standards

2.Follow all applicable safety policies and procedures

3.Complete all required safety training

4.Keeps machine and work area clean

5.Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area

6.Assist Plant Manager and Supervisor as needed

7.To work as a team with others in plant

8.Work any overtime as needed

9.Starts winder machine(s), monitor operation, and make adjustments as needed

10.Watches gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly

11.Tends machine with winding units that winds fiberglass thread

12.Inspects glass-fiber part and/or basin to verify that they meet specifications and determine whether machine adjustment is needed

13.Observes operations to detect defects, malfunctions, or supply shortages

14.Threads fiberglass through guides and rollers of winding machine

15.Replaces depleted supply packages with full packages

16.Inspects machinery to determine whether repairs are needed

17.Notifies supervisors or mechanics of equipment malfunctions

18.Keeps machine and work area clean 

19.Wipe’s down machine flange area after machine operation

20.Assist in changing winding machine mandrels

21.Weighs finished product and document completion

22.Fork truck certified

23.Any and all other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

24.Your attendance during scheduled work hours is an essential function of this position

D.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1.Balancing - maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching

2.Bending stooping - bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, occasionally

3.Light carrying - physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another, intermittently

4.Grasping - applying pressure to an object with fingers, including thumb and palm, 8 hours per day, intermittently

5.Feeling - perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips

6.Arm-hand steadiness - the ability to keep the hand and arm steady while moving the arm or while holding the arm and hand in one position

7.Finger dexterity – the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands

8.Multi-limb coordination - the ability to coordinate two or more limbs i.e., two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm, while standing

9.Moderate lifting - raising objects 15-44 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from one position to another, 8 hours per day, intermittently

E.MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1.Standing - 8 hours per day

2.Heavy work – exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

3.Control precision – the ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions

4.Response orientation – the ability to choose quickly between two or more movements in response to two or more different signals (lights, sounds, etc.). It includes the speed with which the correct response is started with the hand, foot, or other body part

5.Rate control – the ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene

6.Reaction time – the ability to quickly respond (with the hands, fingers, or feet) to a signal (sound, light, etc.) when it appears

F.VISUAL / HEARING ACUITY REQUIREMENTS

1.Visual requirement – employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as operation of machines, using measurement devices and/or assembly of fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes

2.Visual requirement – employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operate machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach

3.Hearing requirement - perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. The ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations of sounds

G.ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS

1.The employee is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the employee to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise

2.The employee is subject to hazards. This includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, heat and/or exposure to chemicals

3.The employee is subject to atmospheric conditions. One of more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, or gases
