What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAT II Spanish Linguist position at Torden LLC?
Torden is seeking qualified linguist professionals to support the interpretation requirements for the SOUTHCOM in direct support of the General Commander and staff. This position is a short-term contract position not to exceed 6 months in duration. This position will require TDY.
Requirements:
- Interpretation for Spanish to/from English at a level 3 on ILR scale
- Working proficiency in Spanish and English (ILR Level 3)
- Demonstrated ability to conduct accurate translation, transcription, and interpretation
- Must be able to interpret on-demand for meetings and impromptu conversations.
- Must have typing and computer skills
- Must be able to think quickly and work in a professional atmosphere as part of a team
- Ability to understand the essentials of all speech in a standard dialect and have broad vocabulary to rarely require assistance for paraphrasing or explanation.
- Ability to follow accurately the essentials of conversations between educated native speakers
- Ability to understand radio broadcasts, news stories similar to wire service reports, oral reports, some oral technical reports, and public addresses on non-technical subjects.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an active SECRET clearance to perform on contract.
- Preferred: Individuals with an active TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI access
- All candidates must pass a U.S. Government Counterintelligence (CI) screening
