The Town of Foxborough is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Equipment Mechanic to assist with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of DPW equipment and vehicles, school buses and police vehicles. This is a full time (40 hour/week) benefit-eligible position reporting to the Director of Public Works.Duties includes but are not limited to:
Perform required repairs on gas and diesel trucks and equipment, police cars and school buses. Conduct regular preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Ensure compliance with Federal DOT Regulations. Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks, vehicles and buses. Prepare and update records on service truck conducted on vehicles. Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in garage area. Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and the public. Ability to use maintenance related computer programs. All other duties assigned.Qualifications and experience:
Experience with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of gas and diesel equipment and vehicles. Ability to work independently and, or with little supervision, and to complete daily activities according to prescribed work schedule. Must have an exemplary safety record and the ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Must have valid driver's license AND a good driving record, Class B CDL required. Massachusetts hoisting license required. Strong communication skills and computer skills. Considered applications must pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical and drug test. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and must have own tools.
