What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Watchman (Saturday - Sunday, 7:00pm - 7:00am) position at Town of Wellesley?
The Department of Public Works is seeking a Night Watchman. Duties include making periodic patrols throughout the buildings and grounds to ensure against fires, thefts, vandalism, broken water pipes, etc.; answering all telephone calls and accurately documenting the nature of the call; calling in appropriate standby personnel if the procedure requires it; notifying supervisors in case of emergencies; and performing miscellaneous clerical duties including reviewing, responding or forwarding emails as necessary. The incumbent exercises independent judgment when making minor decisions. The hours are 7:00 pm to 7:00 am Saturday and Sunday. Occasionally may be required to fill other shifts. Pay range is $20.11 - $25.04 per hour. The position is fully benefited. Requires a solid work record and any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
