JOB DESCRIPTION: The assistant store manager is responsible for assisting the store manager with all aspects of running a profitable store location. The assistant store manager will assist in setting the tone and leading the store's culture and environment to ensure success in all aspects of customer service, profitability, operations, people development, merchandise presentation/assortment and the physical aspects of the store.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Step in as acting store manager in the absence of the store manager.
- Assist with attaining sales and profitability goals for the store through effective use of short and long term strategic planning, expense management and inventory control.
- Assume leadership and development role through effective total store communication, awareness of morale, staff development and implementation of selling priorities.
- Maintain a store environment that fosters individual and team motivation, initiative and positive attitude to achieve company objectives.
- Assist in developing a strategy for execution of the day-to-day operation of the store including the delegation of responsibilities and work assignments.
- Work with the store operations manager and the corporate office to ensure expenses are within budget and all other corporate policies and procedures are being followed.
- Ensure consistent high standards of customer service through effective staff planning, monitoring of training and timely set up of special sales events. Respond to customer inquiries and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain standards of operation for the total store including visual presentation organization, security/shortage control, safety and compliance, inventory control, store maintenance/physical property, in-store administration, procurements.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS PREFERRED:
- Extensive previous experience in sales, automotive parts and accessories and customer service
- Disciplined and self-motivating work ethic
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Valid and current driver's license
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
