SUMMARY: TRABUS has an opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to support NAVWAR Cloud Environments using Red Hat and AWS involves leveraging the combined strengths of Red Hat's open-source technologies and AWS's scalable cloud infrastructure to meet NAVWAR's mission-critical requirements. This approach helps deliver secure, compliant, and agile cloud solutions that align with DoD mandates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the operational cloud environment is designed to meet NAVWAR's specific operational requirements, including security, scalability, and reliability.
- Utilize cloud services (such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) to improve operational efficiency and reduce IT overhead.
- Implement robust security measures like encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and continuous monitoring to protect sensitive data.
- Manage workloads across multi-cloud environments while ensuring compliance with policies.
- Support the migration of legacy systems and applications to the cloud.
- Ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions with existing NAVWAR infrastructure, including networks, databases, and communications systems.
- 7-9 years’ experience in the analysis, development and support of computer software for DOD computer automated systems
- 4-6 years’ experience working with containerization, Red Hat and/or AWS cloud infrastructure
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in object-oriented analysis and design
- Ability to develop/document/implement new processes
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Detail oriented
- Experience with Ansible automation platform
- Experience with Red Hat and one (or multiple) certifications – RH Systems Administrator, RH Certified Engineer, Red Hat Certified in Containers, or OpenShift Admin, OR
- Experience with AWS and one (or multiple) certifications – AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator, or AWS Certified Solutions Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, or Math from an accredited college or university
- Master’s degree in any of the preceding disciplines may be substituted for one year of general experience
