What are the responsibilities and job description for the Subway Shift Supervisor position at Traders Village?
Traders Village is looking for a responsible shift supervisor with management experience for our Subway restaurant. We are the largest flea market on the Gulf Coast, located in NW Houston, and Subway is one of our indoor restaurants.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shift Lead supervises the operations of a shift to ensure that food safety, product preparation, cleanliness and inventory control standards are maintained. This may include scheduling and supervising staff. Exceptional customer service and effective leadership ability are a major component of this position.
30 or more hours per week. Thursday thru Monday- Scheduled Shift
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
1. Crew member performs all tasks and responsibilities of a Sandwich Artist® as outlined in Sandwich Artist® job description.
2. Trains newer or less experienced Sandwich Artists™ in their tasks and responsibilities.
3. Practices inventory control standards.
4. Inspects equipment and storage facilities throughout a shift to ensure that equipment is in proper working order.
5. Conducts weekly inventory and orders products.
6. Performs paperwork duties as needed.
7. Completes University of Subway® courses as directed.
8. Work with the team to pass all compliance audits.
9. Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains them to guests accurately.
10. Checks products in sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
11. Performs Cash-In Procedure- accounting for all forms of money, bread, etc., during the shift.
12. Crew members exhibit a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders.
13. Maintains a professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the Subway® Operations Manual: Daily Procedures.
PREREQUISITIES:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Leadership experience required and a minimum of 1 year experience in a restaurant environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Communication and organizational skills.
Physical:
Must be able to work in any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register (cashier).
Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday.
Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
The job requires standing for long hours, working in the heat and the cold, communicating with customers, and having the ability to operate food prep equipment and a cash register.
Must be good with counting change and basic math.
Bilingual a plus!
