Job Description
As a Title Examiner at Tradition Title of Texas, you will be responsible for providing title commitments for residential closings to our 3rd party escrow agent partner. The title process is very important to the success of Tradition Homes, and in many cases, a customer’s experience with the title company is the most memorable time of their homebuying experience!
The Title Examiner role includes working independently, searching public records, summarizing recorded documents that affect the condition of title to the property, and using your experience to determine status and establish chain of title.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement following Texas Department of Insurance guidelines.
This position is expected to have a quality and professional relationship with all office departments, field personnel, and outside representatives. You will need to prioritize what is important and complete your work in a timely manner. This person needs to be highly motivated and willing to learn and grow within this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform title examination and examine the chain of title for a wide range of title orders.
- Analyze records, such as mortgages, leases, subleases, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, plats, and map books.
- Determine ownership and legal restrictions to verify legal description of property and completeness of records.
- Resolve most issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory information contained in the title documentation.
- Prepare title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines.
- Prepare and review reports for accuracy.
- Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines.
- Prepare various types of title reports following preestablished search and exam guidelines.
- Perform online research, obtain document copies from approved imaging systems and be familiar with all aspects of title work.
- Maintain compliance with government reporting for Texas Department of Insurance and other state and federal agencies.
- Organize your work and set priorities to meet deadlines.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Education, Skills, and Experiences
- 3-5 years of Texas residential title exam or directly related experience.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of all documents shown in the public records, knowledge of legal descriptions and the ability to read a legal description and plot it on a map.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently, manage and balance multiple projects and to conduct assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Proficient in Title Company Software (SoftPro, RamQuest), Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize, multi-task and pay close attention to detail and accuracy.
- College Degree Preferred, but not required. High School Diploma or equivalent.
- State license(s) if required.

Compensation
- Competitive and commensurate with experience and contribution to the Company

Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
