What are the responsibilities and job description for the IVF Embryologist position at Trans Ova Genetics?
Position Purpose: Responsible for searching, grading, and packaging oocytes in an on-farm lab, data entry, and communication with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oocyte searching and grading for maturation.
- Recordkeeping/Data Entry.
- Assist in Quality Control and lab cleanliness.
- Supply inventory management
- Maintain good laboratory technique and follow lab protocols.
- Follow Trans Ova’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional image reflective of Trans Ova’s industry position.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education Requirements:
B.S. in Animal Science or a related field; or a Veterinary Technician degree.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time behind a microscope, in a lab setting.
- Ability to perform tasks efficiently in outlined ti
- me frames.
Other skills/experience:
- Prior hands-on experience in bovine oocyte grading is appreciated.
- Knowledge of the cattle industry is appreciated.
- Good hand-to-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Works effectively in a team as well as alone (ability to work independently)
- Takes initiative and is a self-starter
- Ability to communicate honestly, effectively, and empathetically with team members.
