Job Summary
The Line Services Technician is responsible for providing fuel, oil, hanger and tie down storage, lavatory service, courtesy car transportation, luggage handling and interior and exterior services to customers and other departments. Additional responsibilities include commercial ramp, aircraft cleaning, operations and commissary duties as required. The Operations Manager is the Line Service Technician’s immediate supervisor. Line Service Technicians also report to Airline Service Manager while working with commercial aircraft.
Schedule will vary over a 7 day period.
Essential Duties And RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drives and services fuel trucks and ground support vehicles, and services aircraft and ground support vehicles with fuel, oil, and all other supplies and materials which may be required by the aircraft or vehicle; responsible for operating and filling of fuel trucks; cleaning, servicing, operation, and performing minor maintenance to this equipment.
- Parks tows and stores aircraft in accordance to the TDA Aircraft Towing and Hangar Storage Policy; directs the movement of aircraft and vehicular traffic on the ramp and in and about the shops and hangars of the Company’s facilities; properly secures all parked aircraft at all times.
- Assists all aircraft crews and passengers by courteously providing services they may require, and aids in enplaning and departing passenger’s baggage and cargo.
- Washes, polishes, wax and clean the interior and exterior of Company and / or Itinerant aircraft, as directed.
- Washes and cleans mobile equipment and runs local errands and transports people as required both on and off the airport.
- Polices ramp area in and about hangars, lounge areas, shops and auto parking areas of the company.
- Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the areas in and about the Company’s facilities including FBO building, hangar floors, shops, maintenance / administration lobby, maintenance areas, employee’s locker rooms, lavatories, and performs trash removal as required.
- Assist with snow removal as required
- Responsible for radio and telephone calls, insures that information is acted upon or relayed to the proper department or individual.
- Complete necessary receipts, fuel tickets, credit card, in-house accounts and record.
- Receives and accounts for all sales transactions on the shift.
- Must be available to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts plus weekends and holidays
- Handles all cash transactions in accordance with approved procedures.
- Performs passenger services and ground handling for charter flights.
- Deices aircraft in accordance to specified standards
- Loading and uploading baggage on and off the aircraft
- Marshaling in the planes and pushing back the aircraft
- Able to attend required training
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Competency / Behavioral Requirements
PHYSICAL Demands
Strenuous lifting and pulling fuel hoses (75-80 lbs.).Climbing and standing on step ladders while connecting fueling hoses overhead. Bending and stooping to manipulate hoses and connect aircraft tow bars. Must be able to carry 70 pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry 70 pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet; Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
Education
High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
Varying shifts and days.
