POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary function of the RN Staff Educator is to assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, managing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the facility. In addition, you will also be the Infection Control Preventionist. You will oversee the planning, organization, development, direction, and evaluation of the infection prevention and control program throughout the Community in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations. While the Director of Nursing (DON) chairs the Infection Prevention and Control Committee, you will support the DON in areas identified and as outlined below. This will include identifying Community training needs based on infection surveillance and process/outcome measurement, developing training plans and materials, as well as evaluating efficacy of training provided. In addition, you will assist with developing and executing a Nurse Aide training program and work as the instructor to train our new employees and start them on the path to becoming state tested nursing assistants!Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the facility's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.
Education & Qualifications:
- Be a licensed registered nurse (RN) who has earned a certificate/diploma or degree in nursing and maintains an active and unencumbered licensure.
- Be qualified by education, training, experience, certification, or a combination of these.
- Work at least part-time at the Community.
- Must be willing to obtain Train the Trainer Certification approved by the state of Pennsylvania.
- Have completed (or complete within first week of hire) specialized training in infection prevention and control (ex. CDC’s infection and control modules or other qualified infection control education). Any additional state-specific training required for the position will be completed at the earliest available opportunity (ex. SPICE in North Carolina).
- Must be able to communicate in English and have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Experience:
- Ideally would possess experience teaching or training adult learners and have prior experience/training in Infection Prevention and Control processes.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role in a hospital, nursing facility or other related healthcare facility, preferably in long term care.
- Prior experience as a Nurse Aide Educator preferred.

- Full-Time Opportunity Available
