Job Summary
Ensure successful implementation of Early Learning Coaching program plan and operations and procedures. Ensure all education staff receives coaching strategies to enhance effective practices and align with the program performance goals.
Duties
- Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assess all education staff and identify their strengths, needed support and determine which staff would benefit from intensive coaching.
Staff identified to need intensive coaching will be observed and provided feedback as well as modeling effective teaching
practices.
Staff not identified to need intensive coaching will receive other forms of professional development depending on their need.
Conduct classroom observation to promote developmental appropriate practices, sound program approaches to delivery of services and impact culturally and linguistically appropriate belief.
Maintain regular communication with Education/Disability Coordinator and Family Service/Mental Health Coordinator
regarding strengths and needs identified during classroom visits.
Become CLASS Reliable and maintain certification.
Use CLASS results to provide identified training needs.
Coordinate with the Education/Disability Coordinator in the Job Coach/Mentor Program for the teaching staff.
Monitor staff taking college courses.
Identify training opportunities for staff to increase their knowledge and improve their skills to better implement the Head Start Performance Standards.
Attend workshops, training, and meetings as required to enhance job performance.
Participate in and/or conduct training as appropriate.
Attend Policy Council meetings as needed.
Write articles for newsletter concerning practice-based coaching and training opportunities as requested.
Good attendance is essential part of this position.
Respect and understand the Chain of Command.
Perform and other duties as assigned by the supervisor that is in the best interest of the agency.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four-year degree in Early Childhood or four-year degree out of field with combination of related education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Skilled Bilingual in English & Spanish an asset.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speck effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts & interest. Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Driver’s License; Proof of proper vehicle insurance coverage, and proper background screening. Must complete the 40 hours Introductory Childcare training and 5 hour Early Literacy and Language.
