Enterprise Data Analyst

Position Summary

This role combines the management of enterprise software solutions with the creation of impactful business intelligence reports and insights. The ideal candidate will leverage tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Crystal Reports, and SQL Server to transform data into actionable intelligence, while maintaining and improving digital workflows and processes. This position will also play a critical role in managing the organization's data lake and providing strategic recommendations to establish a robust, future-ready data environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Intelligence and Reporting:

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring data accuracy and usability.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, and Crystal Reports.
• Extract, transform, and analyze data from various sources to uncover trends and provide actionable insights.
• Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance reporting processes and tools.

Enterprise Applications Management:

• Assist in maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting key enterprise systems, including:
  • Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Customer Information System (CIS), Financial Information System (FIS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Outage Management Systems (OMS).
• Support APIs, data pipelines, and integrations using object-oriented languages (C#.NET, Java) and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
• Possess an excellent knowledge of the practices and procedures and the ability to work closely with Accounting, Billing, Business Development, Communications, Engineering, Field Services, Fleet Management, Information Technology, Member Services, Operations, and System Operations to fully understand the requirements of provided solutions.

Data Lake:

• Take ownership of the organization's data lake, ensuring its effective operation and alignment with business goals.
• Provide strategic recommendations for setting up and maintaining a scalable, efficient, and secure data environment.
• Conduct data audits and resolve data inconsistencies.
• Manage data integrations across various systems.
• Collaborate with IT and data teams to establish best practices for data storage, governance, and accessibility.
• Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance the data lake and overall data infrastructure.

Data Analysis:

• Mine and analyze data to identify optimization opportunities for business strategies, marketing techniques, and product development.
• Create custom reports for internal departments to support decision-making processes.
• Build robust, scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python and Alteryx.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and performance across systems in collaboration with the IT and cybersecurity teams.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and meet their data and application needs.
• Facilitate the integration of business processes with technology for improved efficiency.
• Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business units.

Cybersecurity and Compliance:

• Maintain awareness of cybersecurity principles in applications and processes.
• Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure systems and workflows meet security standards.

Continuous Improvement:

• Evolve digital and analog workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies and best practices to innovate and improve processes.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Analysis, or a related field preferred.
• OR a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Experience:

• 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or enterprise applications.
• Proficiency with Tableau, Power BI, Crystal Reports, SQL Server, and Oracle.
• Experience supporting data pipelines, and integrations using object-oriented languages (C#.NET, Java) and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of data-modeling, retrieving data from SFTP servers, API's, databases, and web scrapping.
• Familiarity with enterprise applications like CIS, FIS, GIS, and Laserfiche ECM.

Skills:

• Proficiency in object-oriented languages, scripting, and data formats (C#, Python, XML, Javascript).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordination across teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Experience with Snowflake, or other cloud-based data platforms.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like R or advanced Python techniques.
• Certifications in Tableau, Power BI, or SQL.
