Trinity University is seeking a Part-Time Faculty for the summer 2025 semester to teach HCAI 5380 Health Care Human Resource Management course.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical responsibilities of part-time faculty members include but are not limited to:
* (1) Standards and Regulations and (2) Human Resource Management Competencies to:
* Develop an understanding of the role of human resource management (HRM) in the strategic planning of the organization.
* Illustrate the impact of legal considerations on HRM activities and functions.
* Design tools for job analysis, job description and job specifications.
* Develop methods that improve retention of talent in health care organizations.
* Illustrate the importance of training and development.
* Create a process for recruitment of a particular health care position.
* Identify human resource issues involved with unionization and collective bargaining.
* Conduct a performance appraisal interview with its own appraisal tool.
* Industry-specific and subject-matter-specific experiences.
* Provide conceptual understanding HRM in multiple heath care organization types.
* Assign topical readings and related assignments.
* Arrange relevant guest speakers.
* Coordinate with full-time faculty.
* Assign and grade tests, class participation, and written reports.
APPOINTMENT DETAILS
The HCAI 5380 part-time faculty must be available (classroom time and outside of the classroom) when the summer 2025 semester begins for the Department of Health Care Administration and complete course requirements according to the academic calendar requirements (e.g., assigning grades).
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Required: M.S. in Hospital/Health Care Administration, Human Resources for Health Care Organizations, Business Administration or other relevant field
Preferred: Ph.D. in Hospital/Health Care Administration, Human Resources for Health Care Organizations, Business Administration or other relevant field
EXPERIENCE
Required: Five (5) years relevant experience that is industry specific and subject matter specific (such as c-suite or other relevant experience in Human Resources at a healthcare system or field)
Preferred: Ten (10) years relevant teaching at the graduate level or relevant experience that is industry specific and subject matter specific
(such as c-suite or other relevant experience in Human Resources at a healthcare system or field)
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Required: Human Resources-related Certifications (SPHR, PHR, SHRM, etc.)
Preferred: HR Change Management (CMHR); Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR); Certified Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional (CPRP); and/or Chief Human Resources Officer Certification (CHRO-C, CHRO)
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Mastery of emerging directions in strategic human resource management, including analysis of health manpower, professional, technical, and continuing education, credentialing, and recruitment, selection, compensation, retention, and performance evaluation of health manpower; independent service contractors' roles; and federal legislation (such as NLRA, FLSA, OSHA, EEOA, and ERISA) impact.
