Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø Performs computerized sleep monitoring.

Ø Assists in ongoing operation of sleep lab activities/duties.

Ø Helps alleviate the patient's fears by explaining the testing procedure.

Ø Completes all pre and post test documentation.

Ø Preps patient in a timely and friendly manner to ensure quality diagnostic data for interpretation.

Ø Documents all notes in a timely and complete manner.

Ø Initiates CPAP when indicated and helps develop patient compliance during titration process.

Ø Cleans sleep lab following testing and prepares for the following test day.

Ø Assists in orientation/training of new employees.

Ø Assists with collection of QI data.

Ø Assists with supply inventory.

Ø Assists in the evaluation of new equipment.

Ø All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø Current TN Registered Polysomnographic Technologist licensure (Within 90 days of hire)

Ø Registered Polysomnographic Technologist {RPSGT} (Within 90 days of hire)

Ø BLS certification (within 30 days of hire)

Ø 1-3 years’ experience preferred

Ø Basic computer skills

Ø Good communication skills and solid mathematical ability

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Polysomnographer must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Registered Polysomnography Technician (RPSGT), or Registered Sleep Technician must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
