Quality Manager

Job Summary:

Triumph Construction, a leader in civil construction, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quality Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing quality assurance and control processes on large civil construction projects, with a focus on infrastructure development. The candidate must have MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) experience and be familiar with the standards, regulations, and requirements specific to MTA projects. This role is critical to ensuring that all construction activities meet the highest quality standards while complying with project specifications, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) tailored to civil construction and MTA project requirements.
• Oversee the quality assurance and control activities across multiple construction sites, ensuring compliance with MTA standards, industry regulations, and client specifications.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor construction quality, identifying potential issues and coordinating corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure all construction activities align with approved plans, designs, and quality benchmarks.
• Review and approve quality-related documentation, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, material submittals, and test results.
• Ensure all materials used in construction meet required standards, and work with vendors and subcontractors to address any quality concerns.
• Coordinate with MTA representatives, third-party inspectors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance with all relevant quality and safety standards.
• Lead and manage a team of quality control personnel, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to foster a culture of quality excellence across all projects.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all quality assurance activities, including site inspections, non-conformance reports, test results, and corrective actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance quality processes, reduce defects, and improve overall project performance.
• Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, clients, and MTA officials, ensuring transparency and accountability for quality outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the civil construction industry, with specific experience on MTA projects.
• In-depth knowledge of MTA standards, regulations, and procedures is required.
• Strong understanding of quality control processes, construction methods, and materials testing.
• Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and quality assurance tools, including ISO standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential quality issues and implement timely solutions.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in construction management software, quality control tools, and documentation systems.
• Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQA, ISO auditor) are preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Extensive experience managing quality on large-scale infrastructure projects, including bridges, roads, and transit systems.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with lean construction and continuous improvement methodologies.
