Position Overview
Trailer Technician will be running diagnostic tests, repairing trailer vehicles, and performing preventative maintenance. The individual at this position will be eager to provide the best auto service and willing to communicate with company drivers, and other Mechanics within the shop to achieve overall success of the repair process.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Diagnose issues in semi-trucks and tractor-trailers
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers
- Perform Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Preventative maintenance, including replacing coils and filters
- Perform Trailer preventative maintenance, including changing out filters, testing fire alarms and fire extinguishers
- Test equipment and systems for performance
- Perform repairs to brakes and electrical systems
- Perform brake system repairs, suspension maintenance and structural damage repairs performing routine maintenance and regulatory compliance
- Perform disk & drum air brake repairs
- Hydraulic trouble shooting on lift gate systems
- Welding, stick, mig, and tig.
- Replace parts
- Document repairs
