Job Summary
The Mental Health Counselor will be responsible for assessments, individual therapy, possibility for group therapy, documentation and reporting, filing and discharging clients as required. This is a contract position so there is freedom to make own hours with a minimum of 10 direct hours per week
Duties
- Assist in the creation and implementation of individualized treatment plans for clients, ensuring adherence to therapeutic goals.
- Facilitate individual/ group therapy sessions, promoting a supportive environment for sharing and healing. Ensure the use of evidenced based tools and approaches.
- Documentation in timely matter to ensure compliance.
- Work with colleague as needed with difficult cases to ensure best actions for growth of the client.
Qualifications
- Licensed Mental Health Clinician (limited license will be considered) with State of Michigan (LLPC, LPC, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT).
- Previous experience mental health agency or private practice setting is preferred.
- Strong skills in diagnostic evaluation and data collection are essential for effective client assessment and treatment planning.
- Ability to engage with client compassionately while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate effective interactions with client and team members.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of mental health care is highly valued.
