This integral part of the team can look forward to the following responsibilities:
- Serve as TID’s Development Coordinator, which involves managing the evaluation of potential impacts that private or public infrastructure projects may have on TID’s water and electric facilities through the land development conditioning process. A critical component of this responsibility is to coordinate with various stakeholders including TID’s internal departments, various local public agencies and private developers.
- Application and enforcement of TID rules and standards through the land development engineering plan review process.
- Review and management of TID’s historical records and documents.
- Preparation and management of Development Agreements between TID and private developers.
JOB SUMMARY
Perform a variety of paraprofessional office and field engineering work including planning, estimating, design, construction and maintenance of District facilities; provide assistance to other engineering staff as necessary and to provide supervision of technical staff as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide supervision, direction and work assignments to technicians responsible for providing customer service. Prepare engineering drawings, specifications and estimates in connection with District facilities. Ensure that the drawings conform to District regulations and standards.
Review and approve cost estimates. Inspect completed projects for conformance to drawings.
Supervise or perform the investigation, application process and field inspections associated with facility changes as needed. Maintain accurate records and drawings of all District facilities.
Provide customer service information to the public and other agencies concerning the District’s rules, regulations and requirements.
Coordinate completion of jobs between other departments and customers (job scheduling). Provide technician support to field supervisors or other departments when questions or problems arise.
Provide technical support and assistance to technicians, operating and maintenance personnel and other areas within the District.
Comply with all District rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the skills and abilities would be:
Education
Usually exhibited by a person with a Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering, mathematics, economics, or a related field.
Experience
Usually exhibited by a person with three (3) years responsible experience performing duties equivalent to that of an Engineering Technician - Civil II for the Turlock Irrigation District.
