Job Title: Quality Control Associate
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Associate is responsible for supporting inspection activities and assisting with Quality Management Systems processes. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications. The Quality Control Associate will also be responsible for working with vendors, conducting inspections, documenting results, and identifying non-conformances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and dimensional mechanical inspections with minimal supervision, adhering to industry and departmental quality standards and safety practices.
- Collaborate with external vendors to outsource quality inspections as necessary.
- Interpret engineering-level mechanical drawings to establish accept/reject criteria and revision status.
- Independently conduct first article and final inspections to confirm compliance with specifications in a fast-paced environment.
- Identify and document non-conformances, initiating Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
- Notify appropriate personnel when products are at risk of rejection.
- Document inspection results by completing reports, logs, and accurately entering data into the quality database.
- Complete inspection-related tasks in line with customer requirements and department priorities.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving initiatives.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across manufacturing departments.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Contribute to team member training and participate in internal audits.
- Perform additional Quality Management System duties as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree in a relevant field or technical certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe.
- General knowledge of CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks) is a plus.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with both metric and imperial measurement systems.
- Proficient in using measurement tools/equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Working knowledge of inspection equipment is required.
- ASQ Certification is a plus.
- Experience or training in print reading and/or GD&T is a plus.
- Knowledge of CMM operations is beneficial.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
