Responsibilities, Expectations, and Goals
Qualifications (Including but Not Limited To):- Strong knowledge of plant operations; experience in multiple departments is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven record of dependability and strong attendance.
- Ability to present oneself professionally when interacting with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and vendors.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, be available during off-shift hours, and travel as needed.
- Strong multitasking abilities with the capacity to coordinate multiple process steps efficiently.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and follow up to ensure timely completion.
- Regular presence on the shop floor to provide guidance and direction.
- Skilled in making recommendations based on cost, quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction, with the ability to present well-supported solutions.
- Capable of leading and taking full responsibility for the performance and outcomes of the 2nd shift.
- Oversee and maintain efficient, safe, and effective plant operations during 2nd shift as the highest-ranking manager on-site.
- Report to the Senior Production Manager and collaborate daily with 1st shift managers to align on department goals, customer requirements, and production priorities.
- Provide updates on shift performance, concerns, and corrective actions through shift notes or problem summaries.
- Work closely with department managers, supervisors, coordinators, and team leaders across the following areas to address issues and provide directives as needed:
- Production Ensure smooth workflow, proper manpower allocation, and adherence to production targets.
- Quality Address quality concerns and ensure compliance with standards.
- Engineering Resolve engineering-related challenges affecting production.
- Safety & Environmental Promote and enforce safety protocols and environmental compliance.
- Human Resources Handle employee concerns, performance management, and policy adherence.
- Maintenance Oversee maintenance needs and ensure timely issue resolution.
- Act as the primary problem-solver during the shift, escalating urgent matters to the Production Manager or Plant Manager when necessary.
- Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment following 5S principles.
- Secure and lock the front office at the end of each shift.
- Oversee plant security and lock-up at the end of the week (if applicable).
- Coordinate and manage the weekend schedule.
- Work weekends as needed.
- Provide relevant updates and key performance insights to the Plant Manager or Senior Production Manager for monthly Continuous Improvement Management Meetings (CIMM).
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
