Service Advisor

Tycor Benefit Administrators Inc. is looking for Service Advisors. In this role the Service Advisor will independently service and grow existing client relationships.

Responsibilities

• An experienced professional who independently services existing clients and maintains strong relationships with clients
• Responsible for all planning, analysis, investment and other decisions that affect the client relationship and consults with Lead Advisor on complex or potentially risky decisions
• Less experienced Service Advisors may work under more supervision and handle some issues and meetings with the Lead Advisor
• Grow existing relationships by adding more assets under management, identifying opportunities for more services, and identifying referral chances
• Develop new client relationships and add new clients primarily from referrals of existing clients as well as by developing their own referral sources
• Should manage $350,000 in revenue independently and add $50,000 in new revenue per year.
• Specific advisory work may include but is not limited to:
  • Preparing and updating financial plans
  • Preparing and presenting insurance cases
  • Developing asset allocation strategies and investment policy statements
  • Rebalancing portfolios
  • Advising clients on appropriate financial products given their plan
  • Researching investment managers
  • Conducting qualified plan trustee reviews
  • Assist 401(k) participants with enrollment – an asset gathering opportunity
  • Assist 401(k) participants with rollovers when they change jobs – an asset gathering opportunity

• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Advisor

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or related field
• Minimum Series 6 (Series 7 preferred) and 65/66 licenses
• Excellent communication/presentation skills
• Studying for the CFP exam or having completed them
• Complete knowledge of financial products used by the firm
• Working knowledge of E-Money planning system
• Minimum 2 years of experience – incumbents in this position typically have 7 years of experience 

Career Progression

• Service Advisor is expected to progress to a Lead Advisor position
• The key for progression onto the next level are demonstrated ability to maintain strong relationships with clients and grow them over time, the ability to get new opportunities through referral and the development of potential referral sources.
