UHS of Delaware, Inc. is Hiring an ADMISSIONS RN Near EDEN PRAIRIE, MN

Responsibilities

For 36 years, Pride Institute has been providing LGBTQIA people (ages 18 ) with an inclusive and accepting place for recovery through evidence-based treatment for substance abuse, sexual health and mental health. Our staff understand the issues the LGBTQIA community face and aim to help give clients the tools needed for addiction and mental health recovery.

Pride Institute has been recognized as one of Newsweek’s Best Addiction Treatment Centers every year for the last 3 years.

We strive to provide the best client-centered care by employing and developing highly qualified staff trained in working specifically with the LGBTQIA community and dedicated to service excellence. In addition to our clinical team, made up of counselors, mental health clinicians, and therapists, we also employ an experienced nursing/tech team who provide 24/7 medical care to our residential clients in Eden Prairie, MN. Our Nurses and Techs epitomize teamwork and service excellence.

We are currently searching for an Admissions RN to work with our team on Saturdays, from 9a to 5:30p, with opportunities to pick up additional RN shifts as available.

Our Registered Nurses are responsible for a multitude of duties, tasks, and last minute decisions, including:

  • performing nursing assessments and documenting client information and nursing care in the client record
  • reassessing and documenting any changes in the client's condition in compliance with facility policy
  • accurately administering medication to clients
  • recognizing behaviors and setting appropriate limits in clear, concise, and non-judgmental terms
  • maintaining compliance with all hospital annual competencies, as well as CPR and First Aid
  • providing pertinent feedback to the interdisciplinary treatment team regarding client response to therapy, treatment interventions and therapeutic objectives, as appropriate and necessary
  • collaborating with other staff professionals in planning for discharge and follow-up care
  • employing principles of communication, interviewing techniques, problem solving skills, and crisis intervention when performing psychotherapeutic interventions

Pride Institute’s RNs are:

  • able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • able to work in a fast-paced environment and to problem solve utilizing good judgment
  • able to maintain confidentiality
  • able to work equally effectively, whether independently or as a team player, depending upon the circumstances
  • able to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers
  • able to adhere to safety policies and procedures
  • able to leap tall buildings in a single bound - well, maybe not this one, but our RNs are pretty great!

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred
  • A minimum of two years of psychiatric/mental health and/or chemical dependency nursing experience is preferred
  • A MN RN license
  • Knowledge of fair, firm and consistent therapeutic milieu management techniques
  • Effective client relations skills
  • Must maintain compliance with all facility annual competencies, as well as CPR and First Aid
  • Must be able to pass/clear the MN DHS Background Study, must pass a UA drug test, and must be free of problematic substance use for at least two years immediately preceding hiring.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as required by CMS.
  • Our Staff are currently required to wear masks within our facility as a preventive measure in order to protect our clients from COVID-19.
