POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, the Assistant Director Clinical Services responsibility is to supervise the Program and Clinical Managers. The Assistant Director of Clinical services ensure the programs meet the needs of the community and the facility’s performance goals and objectives. Responsibilities include the overall administrative processes and management systems for the Residential Treatment Center and Acute Programs, promotion and maintenance of a therapeutic environment, and development and implementation of a clinical treatment programs.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

1. Assist the Program and Clinical Managers in providing supervision to all therapy staff. Supervision is to include but not be limited to oversight of timeliness and accurateness of clinical documentation, clinical supervision of all non-licensed clinical therapists, provide guidance and assistance to therapists in staffing, therapeutic, and interactions with internal/external stakeholders, and implement new program ideas and in-services as needed.

2. Assist the Program and Clinical Managers in ensuring that Psychosocial Assessments, Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Team Rounds, and Treatment Plan reviews within established timeframes either face to face or telephonically-with all patients, family and significant others; assessment, diagnoses, treatment for patients with mental health problems via group, individual and/or family sessions.

3. Assist the Director of Clinical Services in monitoring and evaluation the quality, appropriateness and effectiveness of treatment programs/services. Assis the Program and Clinical Managers in clinical supervision of non-license therapist to teach and monitor the delivery of clinical excellence. Make recommendations to Director of Clinical Services for improvements as identified/needed.

4. Assist the program managers in overseeing and trains staff to provide accurate and up-to-date charting documentation as required by hospital policies.

5. Assist the Director of Clinical Services in ensuring the programs are utilizing social services techniques to meet or exceed hospital goals and objectives. Make recommendations to Director of Clinical Services for improvements as identified/needed.

6. Assist the Director of Clinical Services in establishing a standard for all department members to maintain a professional working relationship with all other clinical service team members to assist in achieving or exceeding departmental goals.

7. Assists Director of Clinical Services in the development and/or implementation of new programs and services to improve patient care.

8. Residential Treatment Center and Acute Programs

a. With the assistance of the Program and Clinical Managers, ensures that all Services are provided as scheduled in a manner consistent with high quality of care.

b. Provides leadership and supervision to Program and Clinical Managers in order to maximize the quality, flexibility and efficiency of all personnel.

c. Works collaboratively with Director of Clinical Services and Business Development Department to market and network services.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in a mental health or psychiatric setting required.

LICENSURE: Licensure by the State of Alaska (LCSW).
