UHS of Delaware, Inc. is Hiring a COOK Near JAMAICA PLAIN, MA

Responsibilities

The Cook is responsible for preparing cuisine, creating meals according to nutritional needs of patients, providing customer service to patients and personnel; while maintaining high standards of quality, sanitation and safety.

  • Interacts with team members/floor staff and answers the phones with a pleasant tone.
  • Assists in maintaining kitchen duties and oversees if tasks are completed including: cleaning of all areas, sweeping and mopping the floor thoroughly (see cleaning schedules).
  • Cleans the surface of all equipment used including: steamer, stove top, stove back, all ovens, along with walls in back of equipment
  • Writes on the clip board what is needed for food orders.
  • Makes sure product is pulled for the next 2-3 days especially to thaw (3 days for meats).
  • Adheres to the menu for production and produces enough food to feed all patients & staff
  • Records food in the temperature log book in accurate and timely manner.
  • Makes sure all products are labeled and dated.
  • Is responsible for their entire meal/meals, which includes the main entrée, alternate, vegetable, starch and dessert.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Two to three (2-3) years of cooking experience in health care setting.
    • Must have knowledge on how to plate food in order to give an appetizing appearance and the principles of safe food handling.
    • Must have good organization skills in order to meet timelines.
    • Must have good communication skills (Oral and written English) as well as basic math and computer skills.
    • Must be Serve-Safe Certified.
